Cameras For Kids

"Cameras for Kids" is a fundraising intiative to raise money to purchase cameras and editing equipment for use in after-school programs.

Our goal is to use the camera kits is to expose children to cameras and editing equipment at a younger age, and give them access to media and technology that would otherwise not be at their disposal. We think it is important to give all young people access to such technology both by itself and in combination with other school subjects.

We hope to reach out to the k-8 schools and get kids involved in video and film making. BATV will offer training to teachers and students on how to use these kits so that teachers can bring them into the classroom for projects and presentations.

Our Watch-A-Thon, a 24 hour movie marathon fundraiser was held on December 2nd and 3rd, and was the first of many fundraising events we plan to hold in order to raise the money necessary to purchase this equipment.
