Internship Opportunities

BATV is looking for interns for the Summer 2012! Join the BATV team at our brand new facility in the Brookline High School Unified Arts building! Work with state-of-the-art technology and HD equipment. Gain invaluable hands-on experience, learn from a fun and supportive staff, and be a part of a great non-profit organization.

 Interns work 10-15 hours a week, but we can be flexible to college course requirements. All interns MUST be receiving course credit.

~Production Intern

 

 

Qualifications:

Undergraduate or Graduate student in Visual Arts, Media Technology, Production, Film Studies or related field
Video production experience required
Knowledge of FinalCut required
Ability to work alone and in a team
Solid communication skills and the ability to interact in an efficient and positive manner
Willingness to work some weeknight and weekend hours a must!

 

Responsibilities Include:

Assist with field productions: set up audio and video equipment, camera operation
Edit productions in FinalCut: create graphics, music, master audio, color correction, export, compress, create DVDs 
Assist with some studio productions: set cameras, lighting, audio and sets; some directing

Create promos for upcoming events

Work on your own on-going project for the semester to be aired on BATV and/or for your demo reel

 

 

 

~Graphic Design Intern

 

 

Qualifications:

Undergraduate or Graduate student in Graphic Design
Proficiency with Adobe Suite
Experience with Final Cut video Editing software, Motion and/or Blendr a plus!
Photography skills a plus!
Ability to work alone and in a team
Solid communication skills and the ability to interact in an efficient and positive manner

Ability to prioritize and manage time efficiently
Willingness to work some weeknight and weekend hours a must!

 

Responsibilities Include:

Create user manuals, promotional materials,and brochures based on BATV style guide
Design and produce graphics and motion graphics for intros and lower thirds for television productions
Set files for digital printing of posters, brochures, and flyers of all sizes

Work with staff and community organizations in development of marketing materials for contests and events
 

 

 

~Animation Intern

 

 

Qualifications:

Undergraduate or Graduate student in Visual, Digital or Media Arts, Graphic design or related field

Experience with Final Cut video editing software, Motion, &/or Blender required
Knowledge of Adobe Suite preferred

Ability to work alone and in a team
Solid communication skills and the ability to interact in an efficient and positive manner
Willingness to work some weeknights a must!

 

Responsibilities Include:

Design and produce graphics and motion graphics for intros and lower thirds for television programs

~Web Intern

 

 
Qualifications:
Undergraduate or Graduate student in Information Systems, Information Technology, Computer Science, Web Design or a related area
Experience Drupal, wordpress, or Joomla!
Solid communication skills and the ability to interact in a positive manner
Ability to prioritize and manage time efficiently
Willingness to work some weeknight hours a must!
 
Responsibilities Include:
Assist BATV Technical Coordinator 
Maintain Drupal website
Aid in server maintenance
Set cables for network
Duplicate DVDs
